Staying Informed, Staying Safe: We Care Ministry Inc. Brings Mpox Awareness to Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – The health and well-being of our communities are at the heart of We Care Ministry Inc.'s mission. As we continue to work towards a stronger, healthier Liberia, we believe that informed communities are empowered communities. That's why we are dedicating this awareness and presentation on Mpox, a viral disease that has seen an increase in cases across West Africa, including our beloved Liberia. While the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) and the Ministry of Health are working tirelessly to manage the situation, with vaccination campaigns underway in several counties and no reported fatalities to date, it's crucial for every Liberian to understand Mpox, how it spreads, and what we can do to protect ourselves and our families. What is Mpox? Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, is a viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus. It is a zoonotic disease, meaning it can spread between animals and humans, and can also spread from person to person. While it can cause uncomfortable symptoms, in most cases, the illness is mild and resolves within a few weeks. However, some individuals, especially children and those with weakened immune systems, can experience more severe complications. Contact Us: +231-886524803, info@wecarelib.org, www.wecarelib.org]
